Steven A. Martino concentrates primarily in class action litigation and mass-tort litigation for allegations of insurance and financing fraud. Mr. Martino participated on the trial team in Avery v. State Farm, a case involving the insurance company's requirement of the use of aftermarket (non-OEM) or imitation crash parts in auto repairs resulting in an overall verdict $1.1 billion. The Illinois Appellate Court recently affirmed a verdict for consumers in the amount of $1.05 billion. See Avery v. State Farm, (Case No.:97L114, Circuit Court for the First Judicial Circuit, Williamson County, Illinois).

For seven years, he served as National Co-Liaison Counsel for the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in the Multi-District Litigation entitled in re: Amtrak "Sunset Limited Train Crash in Bayou Canot in Mobile, AL, USDC Case No. CV-94-5000-RV-C, following the worst railroad disaster in U.S. history which occurred in September of 1993.

Mr. Martino also served a Co-Lead Counsel in Nealy v. Woodmen of the World, a class action alleging the insurance companies discriminatory practices against African Americans. He currently serves on a Plaintiffs' Steering Committee subgroup in re: Firestone Tire Litigation. He has served on Plaintiffs' Counsel committees for many statewide and national class action cases against cigarette manufacturers, hardboard siding manufacturers, vitamin and prescription drug manufacturers/distributors, cellular phone providers, personal finance/bank institutions, oil and gas producing companies, tax preparation companies and insurance companies.
